STAFFING RATIOS & ORGANIZATION PATTERNS 3.4 STAFFING RATIOS Wicomico County Board of Education advocates a small student-teacher ratio using the following maximum class size guidelines: • Pre-K 17 • Kindergarten 20 • Primary (1-3) 25 • Intermediate (4-5) 27 • Secondary (6-12) 27 ORGANIZATIONAL PATTERNS Elementary schools have a variety of organizational patterns (see below). Middle schools are organized Grades 6-8. High schools are organized Grades 9-12.
