FY 2026 Educational Facilities Master Plan

With the City of Salisbury it is often helpful to look at subdivision activity trends inside and outside of the Metro Core boundary. The Metro Core Boundary is described in the comprehensive plan as an area where higher density growth and development should be focused because of the proximity to existing and planned public utilities and services. Historically, the County has seen growth in and around the Metro Core. In 2015, growth within the Metro Core outpaced growth of the area outside of the Core for the first time in five years but then dropped again for several years before picking back up again in 2023. This type of growth aligns with the growth management goals and objectives of the County Comprehensive Plan. Overall, the data trends indicate that Wicomico County Schools could see impacts from new single-family residential homes over the next school year.
